THREE men have been charged after a woman was allegedly raped on a beach in a popular UK seaside town.
Cops received reports of the attack in the early hours of Saturday, October 4, and rushed to respond to the lower esplanade in Brighton East Sussex.
An investigation into the horrifying incident was immediately launched with detectives arresting and charging three men in connection with the alleged rape.
The 33-year-old victim is being supported by specialist officers as the force’s probe into the attack continues.
Police have now confirmed that Abdulla Ahmadi, 25, an Iranian national from Crewe, Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, and Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, both Eqyptian nationals from Horsham – have been arrested and each charged with two counts of rape.
The trio were remanded in custody and are due to appear before Brighton Magistrates Court today.
Detective Superintendent Andy Harbour said: “This has been a fast-paced investigation with all three suspects having been identified through thorough investigative work.
“I commend the bravery of the victim who we continue to support with specialist officers.
“I understand how distressing this incident will be for the community and our dedicated partnership operations to protect women and girls will continue in earnest.
“Three men have been remanded in custody, and we are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
