A reality star has revealed that he is no longer gay and credits God for his shift in sexuality.
Davis Mallory starred on MTV shows The Real World: Denver from 2006 to 2007 before doing three seasons of The Challenge on the same network.
The former covered the 42-year-old reality star’s journey in trying to be comfortable with his homosexuality after growing up in conservative Christianity and his family taking issue with it.
However, now the singer/songwriter has revealed in an Instagram video post on Monday that he no longer identifies as gay as he said: ‘God really pulled [him] out of that lifestyle a year ago.’
In the video he took to the stage at Arise House of Prayer and Worship in Hawaii and recalled his upbringing.
Davis said: ‘I lived the gay lifestyle for about 20 years. I was on a television show, The Real World, and I came out on the show as a gay Christian, but God really pulled me out of that lifestyle a year ago.’

The crowd applauded the former reality star for his revelation as they cheered and said ‘praise God.’
Of God, Davis continued by saying: ‘He started speaking to me in my dreams and showing me the spiritual warfare that I was going through. Every time I returned to sin, I would have a nightmare that my car was being broken into.
‘I had a nightmare that I gave my title to someone else, as I was giving my identity to someone else, or my car was sliding backwards. He was just showing me these really strong visual dreams, these visual images of what sin was doing in my life.’
He then went on to perform his song Baptized for the crowd.
On Sunday, he posted a different statement on Instagram featuring a screenshot from his notes app.
He wrote: ‘I feel like God gave me this vision that us being righteous and following the law is his perfect plan for us.
‘Sinning in anyway is not his plan for us and is not us honoring his design for how he made us. He did not design us to sin, and when we live a life of sin, we are not just dishonoring God, but we are doing a disservice to ourselves and our character.’
As mentioned before, Davis had made his reality television debut on The Real World: Denver which was the 18th season for the pioneering program.

He competed on three seasons of MTV’s The Challenge: The Inferno 3 (2007), The Duel II (2009), and Rivals (2011)

Back in 2018, Davis had talked candidly about his coming out story on The Real World with Out Magazine.
He said: ‘I went onto the show with the hopes of making a positive representation of what it meant to be a gay man, as I needed this type of role model for myself to be comfortable being both gay and a man.
‘I hope that I was able to do this for those who saw me on the show, and for many years I have continued to receive heartfelt messages from viewers who said my story encouraged them to come out to their own family.’
Davis went on to say that the experience led him to speaking publicly about the intersection between his homosexuality and relationship with God.
He said at the time: ‘Immediately after The Real World, I spent time reading books on the subject of what the bible really says about homosexuality, as I was suddenly booked to speak on the subject at more than 40 universities around the US.
‘At times, I even debated religious teachers on what the bible said and on whether you can be gay and a Christian – I fully believe you can.’
