An apparent protest snarled southbound traffic on the 101 Freeway near Hollywood Thursday morning.
Aerial footage from Sky5 showed a line of several cars had been pulled over to the shoulder of the freeway by California Highway Patrol officers.
It’s unclear what the vehicles may have been protesting.
Flags adorned the tops of most of the vehicles. Most appeared to be similar to a California state flag, though the bear figure was vertically oriented instead of horizontal, as it is on the official flag.
Additionally, one vehicle had what appeared to be an LGBT pride flag.
KTLA’s Rich Prickett said the vehicles had been slowing traffic, and though they had been pulled off the roadway by about 9:30 a.m., long lines of vehicles were backed up on the freeway.
