McDonald’s is bringing the heat this summer with a new twist on a classic breakfast item.
Starting July 8, participating McDonald’s restaurants nationwide will offer the Spicy McMuffin.
The limited-time sandwich keeps all the signature ingredients fans know and love but adds a kick, thanks to McDonald’s signature Spicy Pepper Sauce.
In addition to the Spicy McMuffin, McDonald’s is also adding the Spicy Sausage McMuffin and the Spicy Sausage McMuffin with Egg to menus for a limited time at participating locations.
The release is part of McDonald’s continued celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Egg McMuffin. The sandwich originally debuted in 1971.
The Egg McMuffin was the brainchild of Herb Peterson, a McDonald’s franchisee in Santa Barbara. The sandwich was rolled out nationally in 1975.
The Spicy McMuffin collection will be available while supplies last.
