Ten suspects were arrested during a retail theft bust operation in Santa Monica.
Santa Monica police targeted 3rd Street Promenade and the surrounding areas, which is a popular shopping and dining district.
Both plainclothes and uniformed officers arrested suspects who had allegedly stolen merchandise from Target, Lululemon, TJ Maxx, Nike, and Rite Aid.
Police released body cam footage that captured the moment the suspects were apprehended.
With the help of a drone and an automatic license plate reader, two suspects in a stolen vehicle were also located and arrested. Inside their car, police found burglary tools and meth paraphernalia.
In total, 10 people were arrested during the one-day operation. Authorities did not release their identities.
“Thank you to our officers and community partners for their hard work and dedication,” Santa Monica police officials said. “The safety of the Santa Monica community remains our top priority!”
