City officials have issued updated curfew guidance for downtown Los Angeles amid scheduled protests and events this weekend.

The curfew, in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., applies to the downtown Los Angeles area, bounded by the 5, 10, and 110 freeways. Officials have clarified who is exempt from the order and what documentation individuals should carry if stopped by law enforcement.

A Google Maps image shows the affected area of downtown Los Angeles which was placed under a temporary curfew by Mayor Karen Bass on June 10, 2025.

Curfew Exemptions and Documentation

The following groups are exempt from the curfew:

  • Residents living within the curfew zone
  • Individuals traveling to and from work in the area
  • Public safety and emergency personnel
  • Medical patients
  • Utility and construction workers
  • Credentialed journalists
  • Individuals experiencing homelessness sheltered in the zone

Event attendees should carry proof of attendance, such as a game ticket, and leave the curfew zone promptly after the event concludes.

Transit and Travel Considerations

Metro will continue normal service unless disruptions are deemed necessary for public safety. Rideshare and food delivery services are permitted to operate, but drivers should be prepared to show pickup or drop-off proof via app. The Dodger Stadium Express will continue to run for this weekend’s games.

The curfew is in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will remain in place until further notice, according to the mayor’s office
