A Ventura County man was arrested after he allegedly pulled what appeared to be a gun on a taco vendor near Ojai when he was unhappy with his order.
At about 9:15 p.m. on May 9, Javier Soriano Cassarubias — who is identified as Javier Casarrubias Soriano in jail records — allegedly pulled out what appeared to be a revolver and threatened a taco vendor in the 500 block of North Ventura Avenue in Oak View during an argument over his order, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Soriano, 24, then fled in a gray sedan, said authorities, who added that he was identified as the registered owner of that car.
He was located by deputies almost 12 hours later in the 200 block of East Oak View Avenue and taken into custody.
“During the arrest, a replica firearm was located near where the suspect was observed,” the release explained. “The replica firearm matched the description of the weapon brandished at the victim the previous evening.”
He faces charges of brandishing a replica firearm and making criminal threats, and he was released on $20,000 bond on May 11.
Jail records show he’s due to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on Friday.
