Police are investigating the shooting deaths of a female found in a Montebello apartment Tuesday night and her possible killer, who was found later inside a pickup truck.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the apartment building in the 800 block of West Mines Avenue around 7:20 p.m. and found the unidentified female down on the floor with gunshot wounds.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, a spokesperson for the Montebello Police Department confirmed.
During the investigation, officers found a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck belonging to a possible suspect described by witnesses as running from the area.
An unidentified man was found inside the vehicle with what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. That man was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesperson said.
There was no immediate word on a motive for the incident.
