Law enforcement in San Bernardino County arrested three of seven suspects who reportedly stormed a Sunglass Hut location and made off with 11 pairs of sunglasses worth $30,000, officials announced Thursday.

The April 26 incident, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, unfolded at around 2 p.m. at 13850 City Center Drive in Chino Hills.

Authorities said the suspects fled the area at high speeds in two separate vehicles.

“One of the suspect vehicles was located and pursued until the vehicle became disabled, in the county area of Fontana,” the release detailed.

Three suspects, two adults and a juvenile, attempted to flee on foot but were soon located and taken into custody.

The two adults were identified as 18-year-old Rialto resident Deprice Battles and 18-year-old Victorville resident Devonte Moore, while the juvenile was only identified as a Victorville resident.

In a search of the vehicle, 72 pairs of the stolen sunglasses were recovered, authorities said.

Moore and Battles were booked at the West Valley Detention Center for commercial burglary. The juvenile was booked for commercial burglary at San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall.

An investigation into the retail theft is ongoing and detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Chino Hills Station at 909-364-2000.
