Walmart plans to remodel 57 stores in California this year, including 11 in the Los Angeles area, the retail giant announced on Wednesday.
Shoppers can expect to see new signage, new displays, and “expanded departments” with new items, officials said in a media release that included photos and renderings.
Walmart’s bakeries, baby, apparel, grocery and home departments are among those slated for makeovers. The company said pharmacies will soon feature wider aisles and new private screening rooms.
Customers can also expect to see expanded online pickup and delivery as part of the multi-million-dollar overhaul.
“Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role,” said Walmart Sr. Vice President Jay Cordray. “By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part of the community’s fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all.”
Walmart plans to remodel more than 650 stores across the United States this year, the company said. L.A. area stores slated for remodels are:

- 26471 Carl Boyer Dr. – Santa Clarita
- 2001 N Rose Ave. – Oxnard
- 14530 Nordhoff St. – Panorama City
- 301 Montara Rd. – Barstow
- 12721 Moreno Beach Dr. – Moreno Valley
- 1540 W Foothill Blvd – Upland
- 22015 Hawthorne Blvd – Torrance
- 6433 Fallbrook Ave. – West Hills
- 8844 Limonite Ave – Jurupa Valley
- 3250 Big Dalton Ave. – Baldwin Park
Walmart had previously announced that it was building a new store in Eastvale, Riverside County. The store, which will open in early 2026, will create 300 new jobs, Walmart said.
