Arson is suspected after fire erupted inside a five-story Koreatown apartment building Sunday that left one woman with minor injuries, fire officials said.

Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of the blaze at 154 N. New Hampshire Avenue just after 1 p.m. and found smoke billowing out of an apartment unit on the fourth floor.

Firefighters immediately took an offensive approach to the blaze and entered the building, fire officials said.

“Fire companies on scene coordinated fire attack and ventilation between multiple floors of the 5-story apartment building,” officials added.

It took 61 firefighters about 30 minutes to call knock down on the blaze.

A woman at the scene who was treated for minor injuries and was said to be in “fair condition” declined to be taken to the hospital.

While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said arson was suspected though no further information were provided.
