PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Four people were hospitalized due to a strong chlorine odor at a hotel in Prince George’s County Saturday, according to the Prince George’s County Fire Department.
Firefighters say crews responded at 6:10 p.m. to a Holiday Inn in the 1400 block of Laurel Pl. after visitors noted a strong chlorine odor in the indoor pool.
According to firefighters, the building was then evacuated.
Twenty people were medically evaluated, with four being transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters say a hazmat crew determined the cause of the smell to be from cleaning supplies.
