An alert community member helped authorities recover a stolen truck, trailer and two horses on Tuesday.
According to CHP’s Antelope Valley station, a person called them after recognizing the stolen property and animals in an online community post.
“Thanks to their attentiveness and willingness to help, we were able to quickly locate and recover the stolen property – and safely return it all to the rightful owners,” authorities said in a social media post.
While the property and horses were found abandoned, a suspect was not located, CHP confirmed. No description was immediately available, and it was not disclosed where exactly the stolen property and horses were located.
Those with more information on the incident are asked to contact CHP’s Antelope Valley station by calling 661-743-6060.
Despite the lack of a suspect description, officials are happy that the community member spoke up about what they saw, and they encourage others to do the same.
“This incident is a reminder that when communities and law enforcement work together, great things happen,” CHP’s social media post read. “Being a good neighbor sometimes means speaking up, staying aware and calling when something doesn’t feel right.”
