The death of a woman found inside a burned mobile home Monday afternoon has become a homicide investigation, authorities have confirmed.
Investigators did not immediately disclose why they began the homicide investigation but are expected to release more details later Tuesday.
The unidentified victim’s body was found after firefighters responded to 23777 Mulholland Highway in the area of Calabasas Village just after 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
The crew arrived to find the mobile home and what appeared to be a white van, showing heavy flames and smoke.
Aerial footage captured by Sky5 showed the mobile home was destroyed in the fire.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze in 20 minutes but one crew member was taken to the hospital with a minor heat-related injury, fire officials said.
No information has been released regarding the cause of the fire.
