A man who allegedly attacked another motorist at an Inland Empire Starbucks during a road rage incident was taken into custody after being stabbed by the victim Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred in the 300 block of Alessandro Boulevard in Riverside around 4 p.m. after the victim unintentionally cut off the suspect while driving nearby, Riverside Police Department Officer Ryan Railsback told KTLA.
The suspect followed the other vehicle to a nearby Starbucks drive-thru and then got out and allegedly started choking the victim.
The victim retrieved a knife and then stabbed the unidentified suspect in the arm, Railsback said.
When police arrived on the scene, the suspect tried to hide behind a dumpster within the shopping center but was eventually taken into custody.
Video showed a man who appeared to be in handcuffs bleeding from a wound on his left arm.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital to undergo surgery and was expected to face assault charges upon his release, Railsback said.
The victim was also taken to a local hospital and subsequently released.
