An investigation is underway after a mother called police to report that her 11-year-old son had been stabbed and killed at a hotel in Santa Ana Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to the La Quinta Inn at 2721 Hotel Terrace where the boy was found suffering from multiple stab wounds around 9:30 a.m.
The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The boy’s mother was taken into custody and then transported to a local hospital after apparently ingesting something, police said.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing is ongoing.
