HYATTSVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) — Officials said that a pedestrian was hit by a Metro train on Wednesday afternoon, leading to closures and delays.
The Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department (PGFD) said in a post on X that a train hit a pedestrian just after 3:50 p.m. at the West Hyattsville Station on Hamilton Street.
Crews had rescued the person from under the train. EMS units were treating the individual.
As of 4:15 p.m., train traffic was stopped in both directions. PGFD said to expect delays in the area.
