A suspect was arrested after a man was found shot to death in Orange County.
On Feb. 21, police responded to a shooting at a parking lot near 9622 Garden Grove Blvd. in Garden Grove at 11:20 p.m.
Officers found the victim, Trieu Huynh, 26, of Garden Grove, with a gunshot wound to his head. He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries three days later.
Detectives later identified the suspected gunman as Chan Tham Giang, 19, of Garden Grove. On Feb. 26, Giang was detained in San Ysidro as he was trying to cross the border into Mexico.
A search warrant was later executed at Giang’s residence. He was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail.
It’s unclear whether the suspect and victim were known to each other and the motive behind the fatal shooting remains under investigation.

“Detectives are still investigating to see if additional persons were involved,” police said.
