A PSYCHOLOGIST was arrested on suspicion of having sex behind bars with a convicted murderer.
The 31-year-old woman was said to have romped with the inmate during prison therapy sessions.
She was also probed over allegations that she smuggled drugs and phones into Swinfen Hall jail, Staffs.
The forensic psychologist contractor has been accused of committing misconduct in public office.
The inmate was just 19 when found guilty of murder in 2022.
He and a friend were sentenced to life imprisonment and told they must each serve a minimum of 25 years and six months.
They also got sentences of 21 years for attempted murder and eight years for causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
These were to run concurrently.
A murder investigation was launched in 2020 after a 23-year-old was stabbed to death at a shopping centre in Harrow, North West London.
Police identified the killers after a examination of the scene uncovered evidence, including a lock knife and a machete sheath.
In addition to being found guilty of murder, attempted murder and GBH, the Swinfen Hall inmate was convicted of possession of an offensive weapon.
He was found not guilty of one other count of attempted murder.
Prison sources said any jail worker found guilty of inappropriate relationships with prisoners can be locked up themselves.
Bosses at Swinfen Hall, which houses more than 600 cons, have a counter-corruption unit to detect and disrupt suspected wrongdoing.
A Prison Service spokesperson told The Sun on Sunday: “A third-party contractor working at HMP Swinfen Hall was arrested in November last year.
“It would be inappropriate to comment further due to ongoing investigations.”
