Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the violent beating of a motorist in the Carthay neighborhood of Los Angeles over the weekend.
The arrests were announced Thursday by Los Angeles Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky.
“I want to thank LAPD Wilshire Division for their swift work in identifying and arresting these individuals,” Yaroslavsky said. “Violence has no place in our neighborhoods, and those responsible must be held accountable.”
Video of the Saturday, Feb. 22, attack showed a group of teens punching and kicking the unidentified victim near San Vicente Boulevard and Carillo Drive.

Investigators believe the mob-style attack occurred after one of the teams jumped on top of the victim’s car and kicked in the windshield. It was unclear why the teen decided to get on the car.
The two juveniles have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
The arrests come just days after the LAPD released a series of images of persons of interest in connection with the beating.
Detectives are continuing to investigate and are seeking additional suspects.
