PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The first day of early voting for the Prince George’s County special election kicked off Wednesday to fill the county executive and District 5 council seat.
This comes after Angela Alosbrooks resigned as county executive after winning the race for U.S. Senate. There are 11 candidates on the ballot for the county executive role.
About seven candidates are running for the District 5 council seat.
Early voting for the special election will end on March 3 and the primaries will take place on March 4.
Where to vote for the special election?
With the Prince George’s County special election underway, nine voting centers have opened across the county for residents to cast their ballots.
Voting centers will open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. until March 1. On March 2, centers will open at noon and close at 6 p.m., and on March 3, centers will open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

In this special election, eligible voters across Prince George’s County received a mail-in ballot. All ballots can be dropped off at one of the following locations:
