WASHINGTON (DC News Now) – The 2025 WCAC boys & girls basketball championships were held Monday night at Bender Arena on the American University campus.
Boys Championship: Paul VI Panthers vs. Gonzaga Eagles
In a rematch of the 2024 title game, Paul VI once again took down Gonzaga, 58-54 for the Panthers’ second straight WCAC title. Junior guard Jordan Smith Jr. led all scorers with 29 points for Paul VI. This marks the Panthers’ third championship in four years.
Girls WCAC Championship: Bishop McNamara vs. Bishop Ireton
After losing in the WCAC final last season, Bishop McNamara gets the job done this time, handling Bishop Ireton, 61-41.
