MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Crews worked to extinguish a brush fire in Dickerson on Sunday afternoon.
In a post on X at nearly 3:40 p.m., Pete Piringer with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said crews were responding to a brush fire in the 20500 block of Darnestown Road, between Dickerson and W. Hunter roads.
Piringer noted that the fire was spreading quickly and had already burned over an acre of land.

As a result of the fire department activity, some lanes in the area were blocked.
In an update at almost 4:30 p.m., Piringer said crews had extinguished the fire. Officials did not say if anyone was injured in the blaze.
