WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in Northwest D.C. on Jan. 16.
Police said that at about 2:30 a.m., they responded to the Unit block of Ridge Square for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man, who had been shot, inside an apartment.
The man died there. He was identified as 32-year-old Terell Cortez West, of Northeast, D.C.
Police said a woman was also assaulted with a weapon. She had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
MPD said the shooting happened during a domestic dispute.
On Feb. 21, police arrested and charged 34-year-old Maurice Ford of Northwest, D.C., with Second Degree Murder While Armed.
