A large piece of concrete crashed through the windshield of a pickup truck as the driver was traveling near an overpass on the 10 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles overnight.
The incident happened just after midnight Friday morning as the motorist was headed westbound on the freeway.
Video from the scene showed the concrete slab next to a pair of glasses on the floorboard inside the cab of the pickup truck.
The driver managed to pull off the freeway before being taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.
Several lanes of traffic were blocked on the freeway as emergency crews responded to the incident.
Investigators are still working to determine if the concert was thrown from the overpass or if it somehow came loose and fell.
