WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A woman was flown to the hospital in critical condition following a crash on Suitland Parkway in D.C. Tuesday afternoon.
Details about what led to the collision are limited; however, the DC Fire and EMS Department said crews were called to the parkway near Naylor Road SE for a crash with a person trapped inside.
On the scene, crews found the vehicle flipped on its side in a ditch.
DCFD said first responders rescued the driver from the vehicle and they were flown to a trauma center for treatment.
The United States Capitol Police said all traffic on the westbound side of the parkway will be diverted to Naylor Road, and all eastbound traffic will be diverted to Alabama Avenue SE.
The crash is under investigation.
