A Southern California man was arrested for allegedly molesting two children for years.
Martin Herrejon Vieyra, 57, of Santa Paula was charged with four felony counts of child molestation, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
The two young victims were both under 14 years old at the time, prosecutors said. He had access to the children through a familial relationship and the abuse reportedly occurred for many years.
In October 2024, investigators with the DA’s office began investigating reports of child molestation in which Vieyra was the suspect.
On Feb. 13, Vieyra was arrested outside his home in connection with the alleged crimes.
“These horrific allegations date back decades, causing the victims to suffer in silence,” said Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko. “Today, however, thanks to the victims’ courage, we have brought these crimes to light and taken the necessary steps of arrest and prosecution.”
He faces three counts of continuous sexual abuse and one count of sexual penetration by a foreign object with a child under the age of 14 and a special allegation of sex crimes against multiple victims.
No further details on the victims or the case were released.
Vieyra made his first court appearance on Feb. 14 and his arraignment is scheduled for March 14 at Ventura County Superior Court. He remains in custody on $100,000 bail.
