WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — After a winter storm blanketed roads in snow, Metro announced that it activated its severe snow plan for Metrobuses on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
At 12:01 a.m., Metrobus moved from a moderate snow plan to a severe snow plan with only 42 of 193 bus routes operating.
This comes after multiple buses were backed up on Tuesday night as heavy snow continued across the DMV.

With services limited to major roads, passengers can expect delays, detours, and increased wait times.
According to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Metrorail and MetroAccess are expected to run their normal services with the potential for weather-related delays.
