A driver was killed in a wrong-way crash in Orange County Monday.
Irvine police responded to the crash near Jamboree Road, south of Warner Avenue in Irvine at around 1:35 a.m.
A male driver in a Hyundai Elantra was traveling the wrong way on the northbound lanes of Jamboree Road when it crashed head-on with an oncoming vehicle.
The driver, Joshua Kevin Soto, 29, from La Habra, suffered serious injuries from the impact. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the crash, police said.
The events leading up to the deadly crash remain unclear. Police did not reveal whether alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision.
No further details were released as the incident remains under investigation.
