BLADENSBURG, Md. (DC News Now) — Bladensburg police said a man was in the hospital Monday night after he was shot during an attempted carjacking.
In a post on social media on Feb. 10, the Bladensburg Police Department (BPD) said officers were investigating a shooting that took place in the 5700 block of Annapolis Road.
Police said the call came in for shots fired and once on the scene, officers found a man with a gunshot wound.
He was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown, as of Tuesday morning.
“We do not have anything that says he was in the gas station or why he was really in this area,” said BPD Chief Collington, during Monday night’s press conference.
Investigators said they were searching for two people dressed in dark clothing with ski masks. One of the suspects had a handgun, according to police.
“This is a very unfortunate incident and this is not common in this community,” said Collington.
