STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A Wednesday night bible study at a Stafford County home took a turn when an intoxicated neighbor forced his way in under the assumption it was a “human trafficking operation,” the sheriff’s office said.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 5, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to a home on Renee Road after a caller advised he was upset his neighbors double parked.
The neighbor confronted his neighbors in their home and observed a large number of people. He assumed it was a “human trafficking operation” and wanted deputies to investigate, SCSO said.
Dispatchers could hear the caller taunting and cursing at the neighbors during his report.
Deputies at the scene said the 48-year-old caller, David Campbell, had signs of intoxication as he complained about the parking situation and demanded they “identify everyone” within the home.
After speaking with the neighbors, SCSO learned there was a bible study, which was why there were so many people in the home. Neighbors said Campbell forced his way into the residence to confront them and nearly struck an ordained minister while threatening to punch another man.
He was charged with breaking and entering, assault and public intoxication. Campbell was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
