CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – There’s a new face representing the West Virginia Senate’s 17th District.
West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey has appointed Anne Charnock to fill the vacant seat. Former Senator Eric Nelson vacated the seat earlier this month when he was named Secretary of Revenue.
According to Morrisey’s Office, Charnock is a former Municipal Court of Charleston judge who served for more than 12 years. She is also a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association.
“Anne is a lifelong Republican and has been a dedicated public servant in Kanawha County,” said Morrisey. “As a former judge and an accomplished attorney, she will be a great advocate for her constituents.”
During Charnock’s career as an attorney, she has served as a hearing examiner for several state and local agencies, worked as a child advocate attorney, and served as assistant counsel for the WV Republican Party, according to Morrisey. She is also the owner of Charnock & Charnock in Charleston.
