WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Detectives are working to learn what led to a shooting near the White House on Monday morning.
Just before 5 a.m. on Feb. 3, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of K Street for the sounds of gunshots, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). This is just blocks away from the White House.
Police said officers did not find any victims at the scene. However, as the investigation developed, police learned that a man had arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Detectives determined that he had been injured in the shooting on K Street.
The investigation is ongoing.
