PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Two people are dead after a fire broke out at a home in Oxon Hill on Sunday night, according to fire officials.
Details are limited; however, In a post on X, the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department (PGFD) said that just after 6:40 p.m., crews responded to a house fire in the 5500 block of Galloway Drive.
There, firefighters found a “well-advanced” fire spread throughout the two-story home, from the basement to the roof.
Crews rescued two occupants, who both had critical injuries, from inside the home, according to officials.
However, in an update just after 8:20 p.m., PGFD said both of the occupants died as a result of their injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
