Police are searching for a suspect who stabbed a woman while she was walking in East Hollywood.
The stabbing, which appeared to be unprovoked, happened on Jan. 18 near Santa Monica Boulevard and Edgemont Street at around noontime, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Surveillance video showed the suspect approaching three people from behind as they were on the sidewalk. Suddenly, he singles out a woman and stabs her in the neck and face before running away.

The woman is seen holding her head in pain as her two friends appear to be in shock. Paramedics were called to the scene and the woman was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect was last seen running east on Santa Monica Boulevard to the Vermont/Santa Monica MTA station.
He is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s who stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has dark hair and brown eyes.
Police released an image of the suspect in hopes the public may recognize him.
