Prime Video has given a series order to Sterling Point, a drama from My Old Ass writer-director Megan Park and LuckyChap (Barbie, Maid).
Park created the series and will also direct, executive produce and co-showrun alongside Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The OC, Gossip Girl) under their Fake Empire banner. Amazon MGM Studios is the studio.
Plot details of the series are being kept under wraps.
LuckyChap will executive produce under its first-look television deal with Amazon MGM Studios. The series marks LuckyChap’s second collaboration with Park, following the success of her film My Old Ass.
Sterling Point will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Park’s sophomore film, My Old Ass, produced by LuckyChap and Indian Paintbrush, had its world premiere at Sundance, where the film received rave reviews and was quickly acquired by Amazon MGM Studios. It was released in theaters before debuting on Prime Video, and has since been nominated for awards from the DGA, WGA, the Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Movie, and an Independent Spirit Award for Best Screenplay.
