Authorities are asking for assistance locating a missing “at-risk person” who was last seen at Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood Sunday as a major storm was dropping snow in the area.

Malachi Luis Garcia, 35, was seen at the resort around 1:30 p.m. but has not been heard from since, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department special bulletin.

KTLA spoke to a relative and a friend of Garcia who said they were heading to Mountain High to search for him.

Adding to the concern for Garcia’s well-being are updates from the National Weather Service that the Wrightwood area received 3 inches of snow over the weekend.

Garcia was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds with brown hair brown eyes and a full beard. Garcia also has a tattoo reading “Only God Can Trust Me” on his collarbone and full sleeve tattoos on both forearms.

He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, camo pants and a gold chain.

Anyone with information about Garcia’s whereabouts was asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800222-8477 or go to the website lacrimestoppers.org.
