WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Bakeries across D.C., Maryland and Virginia are selling Washington Commanders-themed baked treats ahead of the highly anticipated NFC Championship game which pits the Commanders against the Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 26.
MB Bakery on the Go, a division of Maribeth’s Bakery located in Alexandria that offers delivery or curbside pick-up of baked goods, has put together a football cookie tray ahead of Sunday’s game.
“We can’t believe it,” said the owner Maribeth Nyerges.

The tray has nine different bars and treats, two dozen small cookie jar-style cookies and a half dozen of MB’s Commanders-style decorated cookies.

For nearly 40 years Maribeth Nyerges, her husband Tom, and their hardworking staff have been serving the DMV with a variety of sweet treats. They make nearly 50 dozen of their commander theme cookies everyday, and they say they’re super excited to see the team put the icing on top with a victory this weekend.
“We have some wonderful workers and it’s been great because everything is made fresh. I see it every day and I still get blown away and they taste good too,” her husband Tom Nyerges added.
“We’re very excited that they’re going to go on to the super bowl. That’s what we want.”
DePaola’s Bagel & Brunch, which is located in Stevensville, Md., shared on its Facebook page that it had Commanders-inspired bagels, which featured the team’s colors. The post said the bagels would be available beginning Jan. 21 and throughout the week, daily, while supplies lasted.
Angel’s Bake Shop in Woodbridge, Va. is offering Commanders-themed cupcakes and cake pops. They include sweets with the team’s logo and outlines of Jayden Daniels and ‘Scary’ Terry McLaurin.

The Commanders-Eagles matchup takes place in Philadephia on Sunday. Game time is 3 p.m.
