Costco customers will once again be able to enjoy their hot dog or pizza slice with an ice-cold Coke or Sprite.
CEO Ron Vachris confirmed the rumors that the company would be transitioning from Pepsi to Coke products at its food courts when asked about it during Thursday’s annual shareholder meeting, according to Business Insider.
“Is the food court truly switching back to Coke products?” a questioner asked.
“Yes, that is accurate,” Vachris responded. “This summer, we will be converting our food court fountain business back over to Coca-Cola.”
The change reverses a 2013 move by Costco, which pulled Coke products in favor of Pepsi at its food courts—a move viewed unfavorably by some members at the time.
Costco made the decision to keep the price of the famous $1.50 hot dog combo the same.
Social media reaction to the reversal has been mixed, but some shoppers are excited about the change.
“I guess I’m eating at Costco more now,” one Reddit user said.
Costco is joining a long list of quick-serve brands that serve Coca-Cola products. According to a 2023 report, many food companies serve Coke products.
