Police are searching for a suspect after an elderly man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Long Beach.
The victim was identified as Enrique Barajas, 80, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
On Jan. 20, officers responded to a crash involving a bicyclist near Atlantic Avenue and Pleasant Street at around 12:15 p.m.
An investigation revealed the bicyclist was traveling northbound on Atlantic Avenue when he merged into another lane. That’s when a white SUV traveling in the same direction sideswiped the bicyclist and drove away without stopping.
The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries the next day.
The suspect remains at large. No further details were provided as the case remains under investigation.
