Country singer Lauren Alaina sweetly announced she is expecting her first child with husband Cam Arnold in her new music video for her track, Those Kind of Women.
The performer, who rose to fame as the runner-up on season 10 of American Idol, shared the news by dedicating the video to her ‘sweet baby Arnold coming summer 2025.’
While reflecting on her pregnancy, the star, 30, raved: ‘[I didn’t know] I can love something that I haven’t even really held yet. I feel the baby inside me, and it’s kicking me and doing all of the things.’
‘It’s like I was the Grinch or something, and my heart grew,’ the mom-to-be gushed to People.
Alaina also stated that preparing for parenthood has ‘bonded’ her and Arnold ‘even more’ than tying the knot.
‘My love for him grew that day of getting married, and then finding out we were having a baby together. Walking through this experience with him has been unbelievable,’ she said. ‘I’m looking forward to watching my husband be a dad.’

She continued: ‘He is so obsessed with our animals; he’s a big nurturer in general. In fact, when I was getting ready to marry him, that was something that I knew would be one of the best things about being his wife, was being able to parent with him.’
Prior to learning of her pregnancy, the couple were planning to start trying for a baby at the end of 2025.
‘Now I’m scared because I don’t feel like I passed any sort of test,’ she admitted. ‘They don’t make you take a test on being a mom. It’s crazy. People are like, “What’s your plan with the birth? And what’s your plan here?” And I’m like, listen, “God’s plan. It wasn’t my plan.”‘
Although becoming a mom has come a bit earlier than she expected, Alaina said her baby has already brought joy to her family following the death of her father in July.
‘I do think that my dad passed away and got a stair up in heaven and was like, “Hey, we got to work something out down there to send the family something good.” And it has been such an unexpected blessing,’ she explained. ‘We obviously still talk about and are dealing with the grief of my dad, but this baby has healed a lot of that for us … like it’s a little piece of my dad that will live on.’
At this time, the pair have decided not to publicly reveal the sex of their little one or their name, which they’ve already picked out.
Alaina did, however, confirm that the baby will be named after a family member.
Fortunately, the singer shared that she hasn’t felt ‘any sickness’ yet during her pregnancy, apart from experiencing a ‘level of tiredness that’ she didn’t ‘know existed in this world.’

Alaina also clarified that the bump in her music video wasn’t actually hers.
‘When we shot the video, I barely had a bump. So I actually put a [fake] bump over my pregnant bump to make it bigger so that people knew what was happening visually,’ she explained. ‘So, I wore a baby bump for my music video, which is hilarious. Now that it’s coming out, I look pretty close to what it looks like in the video.’
The singer also revealed that she wrote the song before finding out she was expecting.
‘It’s all about the women who raised me… I was really fortunate to be raised around a bunch of very strong women. And when we cut this song, when we recorded this song, I was not pregnant nor thinking about becoming pregnant,’ she said. ‘It’s funny how things fell into place. It literally changed the song for me. I already loved it, because it’s about the women who raised me. But, now I am going to be a woman raising a child.’
Under her music video, her fans rushed to share congratulatory messages.

Alaina and Arnold married last year at a ceremony held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville.
‘I wanted a small wedding and Cameron wanted a big wedding. So we compromised — and had a 450-person guest list,’ she told People, at the time.
Alaina added that the high attendance level at her ceremony was ‘a reflection of how fortunate we are — we have a lot of people who love us and we love a lot of people.’
The country singer also revealed that several of her family members were involved with the wedding.
‘Our siblings all stood up there with us as we got married. And Cameron’s dad was his best man, which was super sweet, she said.’

The runner-up of American Idol’s tenth season described her wedding as ‘a very emotional, very heartfelt ceremony.’
Alaina then announced that she and Arnold were planning on honeymooning in Hawaii, stating: ‘Neither one of us has been [there], so we’re very much looking forward to it.’
Arnold also provided a statement to the media outlet to show his devotion and support for his wife.
‘I’m excited to watch Lauren’s career flourish, to be her No. 1 fan, and even if everything goes to hell in a hand basket, I still will be,’ he said.
The country singer concluded by speaking about her future plans, and her desire to start a family with her husband.
‘We’re going to spend a few years being married, then hopefully down the line a few years we’ll have our kids. We’ll keep growing together,’ she said.

Alaina and Arnold initially withheld the news about their relationship from the public during their early days as a couple.
The singer went on to reveal that they had become engaged during a performance at the Grand Ole Opry in November of 2022.
The performer was formerly in a long-term relationship with Alexander Hopkins, whom she began dating in 2012.
The pair became engaged in July of 2018, although they went on to separate the following January.
