(KTLA) – Authorities in Riverside County are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest sought for questioning in connection with a homicide earlier this month, officials announced.
On Jan. 12, deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a shooting in San Jacinto and located an adult male on the ground suffering significant injuries.
In a news release, authorities said a short time after the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased, a male juvenile arrived at a local hospital where he received treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
“Investigators determined that this second victim was injured during the same incident,” the release noted.
Detectives are now searching for a person of interest, identified as Jonathen Amezola, described as a Hispanic male standing approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing around 135 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Amezola was last seen in the city of Corona.
Anyone with information about his whereabout is urged to contact Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Robertson at 951-955-1094.
No information was provided on a possible motive for the deadly shooting, nor was the deceased victim identified.
