ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — The Office of the Fire Marshal in Arlington is looking for those responsible for an arson that happened early Thursday morning, damaging three local businesses.
At 5:30 a.m., the Arlington County Fire Department (ACFD) responded to Crystal City Sports Pub, which is in the 500 block of S. 23rd Street. There, they found items on the business’s patio had been set on fire.
Luckily, the fire was contained by the sprinkler system and quickly extinguished.
Investigators also found fire damage to neighboring Freddie’s Beach Bar & Restaurant and McNamara’s Pub and Restaurant.
Initially deemed suspicious, ACFD said Friday the fires were now classified as arson.
They are asking people who live nearby to check their Ring cameras between the hours of 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9 to help identify a person of interest.
