REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) – Police in Redondo Beach are investigating a shooting that sent a man and a woman to the hospital on Sunday, authorities confirmed to KTLA.
In a news release, officials at the Redondo Beach Police Department said officers responded to reports of the shooting in the 2700 block of Vanderbilt Lane just after 5 a.m.
At the scene, police discovered the man and woman, both suffering from a gunshot wound.
Footage from the scene obtained by KTLA showed a heavy police presence with a portion of the sidewalk cordoned off with yellow police tape.
Details are extremely limited and it’s unclear how the shooting unfolded, who pulled the trigger and whether the man and woman know each other.
While authorities continue to investigate the matter, they said preliminary information suggests that the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no longer a threat to the nearby community.
The women, according to the news release, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. No information was provided about the male.
