WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — After months of work, a store opened in Georgetown Friday, bringing an upscale feel with it and a high-end delicacy for discerning palates.
Baku Caviar Boutique began welcoming customers to the store, located in the 1800 block of Wisconsin Ave. NW, on Dec. 20.
The company’s website describes the Baku Caviar brand as “a unique combination of rich Azerbaijani traditions of caviar production and modern technologies.”
Among other things, the company touts itself as providing “the first sustainable Caspian caviar,” noting online and on signage at the location on Wisconsin Avnue that for every jar sold, Baku Caviar releases 10 sturgeon fingerlings into the Caspian Sea.
The website lists a number of kinds of caviar (which is roe, or fish eggs). Pricing begins at $100 and goes as high as $3,500.
The boutique on Wisonsin Avenue is open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
