(KTLA) – Police in Fontana are searching for two commercial burglary suspects involved in separate break-ins, both at barbershops, authorities announced Wednesday.
The first incident unfolded Sept. 25 just after 3:30 a.m. at Cut Plus located at 16385 Merrill Ave., according to a Fontana Police Department wanted bulletin.
Dressed in a light-colored hoodie, a male with a thin build was captured on surveillance cameras after smashing through the shop’s glass door. Authorities said the suspect was speaking to an unidentified woman on the phone and appeared to be looking for specific items.
The thief, who had on a white face mask, camouflage cargo pants, black and white Nike shoes, with a black glove on his right hand, nabbed $50 from the cash register and $350 from an envelope behind the counter.
“The suspect has a noticeable inward turned left leg that causes a limp,” police said.
The second incident occurred nearly two miles away at Dawn’s Barber located at 9753 Sierra Ave. just after 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 4, the bulletin noted.
In this burglary, a thinly built white or Hispanic male used a rock to smash the glass front door and then waited several minutes before entering the shop.
Dressed in a black hoodie, blue jeans, black shoes and a black face mask, with a red or orange backpack, the man exited the store with $145, the cash register and a credit card reader a few minutes after he entered.
Anyone with information about these investigations or who may recognize the suspects is asked to contact the Fontana Police Department at 909-356-7152.
