A driver is reported to be in serious condition after their car crashed and landed in a wash, requiring a rescue from the Los Angeles Fire Department on Saturday evening.
According to LAFD, the patient’s car collided with another vehicle just before 5 p.m. near 15100 West Parthenia St. in North Hills.
Following the crash, the patient’s car “came to rest” in the wash, officials say.
Initial calls to the fire department reported that the driver was trapped in the wash and needed an auto-extrication operation.
However, after arriving and assessing the scene, crews say the patient was not trapped but required a litter basket operation to safely bring them up to the surface.
LAFD said the driver was transported in serious condition “due to the mechanism of injury,” and that one additional patient, an adult male, was assessed for minor injuries.
Details are limited, fire crews did not immediately say what caused the crash or if the occupant(s) of the other vehicle were injured or on the scene.
