Chanel ambassador, Academy Award winner and otherworldly fashion icon: Tilda Swinton embodies a new kind of triple threat. On screen, the 64-year-old actress is known for frequent collaborations with directors like Wes Anderson, Bong Joon Ho and Luca Guadanino.
Promoting her latest film “The Room Next Door” — directed by Spanish auteur Pedro Almodóvar and co-starring Julianne Moore — Swinton served a scorching press tour featuring up-and-coming designers, pops of color and lots of Chanel.
The actress made a splash at the 2024 Venice Film Festival in early September, stepping out of her water taxi in sleek Delpozo. That same evening, she opted for chic Chanel from the brand’s spring 2024 haute couture collection, a pale gray ensemble that lent her an ethereal glow.
Swinton pulled out a showstopper the very next day, attending the red carpet for Luca Guadanino’s “Queer” in striking white Alaïa, set off by turquoise calf-hair pumps and a bold lip.
Supporting Almodóvar’s film at San Sebastian Film Festival later in September, Swinton re-upped on the red lip in a voluminous satin and organza creation from Chanel’s fall 2024 haute couture collection — paired with a delicate lace fan. For a photo call in Madrid, Swinton opted for a decadent mauve tweed from the French fashion house and doubled down with pink Manolo Blahniks.
Attending the Governors Awards in November, Swinton stepped out in a bright red look by this year’s LVMH prize winner Michael Stewart Dunne (the mind behind the label Standing Ground). We’ll leave off at the 2024 Elle Women in Hollywood event, where the awarded actress made sparks fly in one last Chanel look — this time an electric purple tweed, complete with a tiny lion brooch.
