President Joe Biden’s full and unconditional pardon of his son, Hunter Biden, did not warrant front page coverage. Who decided that Curtis Bay coal dust and Belair Road accidents were more timely and relevant to your readers? Why place it on page 10 of the print edition after death notices and before classified ads (“Biden pardon a blow to American jurisprudence,” Dec. 4)?
Had The Baltimore Sun’s reporting included the full text of the pardon statement, readers would have learned that the pardon covers any and all possible federal offenses from Jan. 1, 2014 through Dec. 1, 2024 — almost 11 years. Hunter Biden was appointed to the board of Burisma Holdings Ltd., one of Ukraine’s largest natural gas companies, on May 12, 2014.
Coincidence? Unlikely.
