Cops are looking for information related to the mysterious death of an elderly man found in the East River in early November — and whose name was just released Monday.
According to police, around 8 a.m. on Nov. 9, a 911 call alerted police about a man spotted in the East River near South St. in the Financial District of Manhattan. The harbor unit responded, pulling the victim out of the water; he was unconscious and unresponsive, police said. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
On Monday, police identified the man as James Simmons, 65, of Brooklyn.
